13 lawyers reinstated

From the lawyers that were suspended following the submission of a petition to the Supreme Court expressing their concerns in the judicial system, 13 of them have been reinstated.

Department of Judicial Administration (JDA) issued a statement today saying that the 13 lawyers were reinstated after an investigation.

They are:

1. Abdulla Ahmed

2. Abdulsalaam Aarif

3. Ali Nadheem

4. Abdulmaaniu Hussain

5. Abdulla Naseer Mohamed

6. Ahmed Shan

7. Mohamed Shaahid

8. Mohamed Favvaaz

9. Anoosa Moosa

10. Khadheeja Naeem

11. Zimnaa abdul Muhsin

12. Ibrahim Shiyam

A total of 54 lawyers were initially suspended following the petition. Now, after 13 reinstatement, 41 lawyers remain in suspension.

While 13 lawyers have been reinstated, 35 lawyers submitted a petition calling to end the suspension on the lawyers.
