Chief Superintendent, Mohamed Riyaz has been fired from his position at the Maldives Police Service.
Sun MEdia has confirmed Riyaz's dismissal from the police. He was dismissed following a disciplinary review but the exact issue is unclear.
In relation to the dismissal, Police Spokesperson, Ahmed Shifan said that such internal cases investigated by the police are would not be shared with the media.
Riyaz was on leave when he lost his job with the police. He was also recently transferred to the Commissioner Bureau of the Crime Investigation Command.
The police disciplinary committee has recently started looking into a number of high ranking officers.
