A video that shows a conflict between the MP for Dhaandhoo constituency, Ahmed Assad and the MP four south Galolhu constituency, Ahmed Mahloof inside the parliament building has been leaked on social media.
The video captured through the phone of an MP was shared on social media today by MP Ahmed Mahloof.
The video shows MP Mahloof what is believed to live an interview of MP Eva Abdulla via Facebook and MP Assad comes up from behind and hits MP Mahloof on the arm dropping the phone and attempts to step on the phone.
Mahloof recovers the phone from the ground and pushed MP Assad when he comes back towards him and Assad pushes back before the MP for Kelaa constituency, Ali Arif intervenes.
The video also shows the MP for Bilehdhoo constituency, Ahmed Mubeen being pushed away by MP Assad when he attempts to separate Assad from Mahloof.
A number of officers of the security forces were inside the parliament when the incident took place but none of the officers are seen attempting to intervene in the video.
Posting the video on Twitter, MP Mahloof said that MP Assad attacked him but was not satisfied and so attacked MP Mubeen as well.
MP Assad responded to the accusations by saying that he does not go to the parliament to instigate violence and he has done no such thing.
Assad said that he did not attack Mahloof and try to drop his phone and he does not know if someone has inadvertently caused to drop a phone. He said that he is not aware something like that had happened.

The video also has the voice of the majority leader, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik advising MP Assad not to touch anyone.
While protests have been ongoing at the parliament sittings, a video of the MP for Mid-Henveiru constituency, Ali Azim attacking the MP for Faresmaathodaa constituency, Hussain Mohamed was leaked yesterday.
As the confrontations increases, both, MPs of the ruling party and the opposition MPs have called to the police to investigate.
