Organizers, High Rise, of the prestigious regional tourism awards show, the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2017 has decided to hold the awards show at the Equator Village in Addu City.
Founder of the SATA concept and event organizer, Ismail Hameed told Sun Media that the SATA 2017 that begins on 27 October will be held as a festival.
And so 27 October will be the "SATA Opportunity" which would have the regional brands learning about the investment opportunities in the southern Maldives.
While the SATA festival is set to have three events, the second and third event will be held on 28 October which is the SATA Gala and the SATA Celebrations.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony of Equator Village as the official host of SATA 2017, Hameed said that they decided to hold the events in Addu City to help bring development to the region. He said that the event would also have a positive impact on Maldivian tourism.
The main sponsor of SATA 2017 is Ooredoo Maldives. Co-sponsors are The Hawks. Silver Partners are Malé Aerated Water Company Pvt. Ltd. and Asia Forwarding Pvt. Ltd.
While the regional evaluations began in Maldives today, there are over 450 nominations for the 34 categories from ten segments.
And so after the evaluation in Maldives, the nominees from Sri Lanka will be evaluated from 19-22 August in Colombo.
The nominees from northern India will be evaluated in New Delhi from 27-29 August. The nominees from Nepal and Bhutan will begin their evaluation period on 29 August and be completed by the beginning of September.
