Yonder Music app introduced featuring Maldivian music

Dhiraagu and Yonder Music have introduced the Yonder Music mobile application to Maldives.

The app, which features over 20 million songs will also include Maldivian music.

The app was launched in a function held at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa last Tuesday night by CEO of Yonder Music, Adam Kidron and Chief Marketing Officer of Dhiraagu, Isabelle Hajri.

Speaking during the launching, CEO of Dhiraagu, Ismail Rasheed said customers will be able to stream Maldivian music with the app. He also pledged to work with Yonder Music to improve Maldivian music productions.

Meanwhile, Kidron complimented Maldivian musicians who he said were very talented and have come far. He said the challenge facing Maldivian musicians were the lack of income from music.

He said that though the app was free, musicians would be able to generate sufficient income from it as musicians will be “tipped” whenever their music is streamed using the app.

A tribute to Maldivian music legend, Zero Degree Nashid was unveiled during the launching.

The tribute – Nashid’s song “Thakurah Baheh” – was produced by Benjamin Hudson McIldowie or “Mr Hudson, and features a number of Maldivian musicians.

The Yonder Music app is available both from iTunes and Google Playstore.
