The trials of Vilingili MP Saud Hussain and Thulusdhoo MP Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim (Wadde) who were dismissed from the parliament have been scheduled at Supreme Court for Tuesday, August 8.
Elections Commission has announced the two MPs have been dismissed from the parliament, and announced by-elections for the two constituencies.
Saud and Wadde filed separate procedural motions with Supreme Court following the announcement.
Saud's hearing is scheduled for 10:30 am, and Wadde's hearing is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
Dhidhdhoo MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed and Maduvvari MP Mohamed Ameeth Ahmed Manik also filed procedural motions with Supreme Court following their dismissal from parliament by EC.
Their trials are yet to be scheduled.
EC announced Saud, Wadde, Latheef and Ameeth lost their parliamentary seats after they won their seats as Progressive Party of Maldives candidates, but then left the party.
