Installation of the mechanical parking system initiated

Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that the installed of the mechanical parking system for motorcycles are being installed by the Housing Ministry on Majeedhee Magu, Heenaamaage, has begun.

The Ministry contracted STO last year to build 20 mechanical parking systems in Malé City.

Eight months from the contract, the first parking system was installed in July.

In a tweet sent out today, Minister Dr. Muizzu said that installation has begun on the first machanical parking system in the Maldives that can house 100 motorcycles.

The government is also set to develop two motorcycle parking systems and one car parking system near Malé Square. Minister Muizzu said that a similar system will be installed near the Velana Building.

Dr. Muizzu said that all the tools required for the systems have now been imported and ten motorcycle and ten car park systems will be installed by the end of the year.
