President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and the First Lady has opened a park at the Youth City in Hulhumalé.
The new park in the China Flats neighborhood is named "Fehires" contains a gym, football pitch, volleyball and basketball court similar to the Hulhumalé Central Park.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the park tonight, the Managing Director of HDC, Mohamed Simon said that the park is part of the government's efforts to provide quality living by utilizing the empty lots in Hulhumalé.
The President and the First Lady took a tour of the park after the opening.
A social center named "Fahiveni" will also be opened in the Youth City tonight by the President and the First Lady.

The social center would include numerous resources for the youth and is set to host different training programs as well.
State Ministers and some MPs are taking part in the opening ceremony of the new facilities in Hulhumalé.
