Authorities have seized the passport of South Galolhu MP Ahmed Mahloof under court order.
The court order, issued in the late hours of Tuesday night, says Mahloof was under investigation and there was viable threat he may attempt to flee the authorities.
The court order says Mahloof is under investigation for what took place in People’s Majlis on July 31.
The court order cites an intelligence report by the police which says Mahloof was planning on fleeing to neighboring Sri Lanka.
Mahloof, this Wednesday afternoon tweeted a photo of the court order and wrote that his passport should not be held, even if authorities confiscate the passport of Speaker of People’s Majlis, Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed.

He tweeted that he wished to effect change and overthrow President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s administration from inside the country.
Mahloof recently finished serving two prison sentences for obstruction.
Multiple opposition parliamentarians are currently under investigation by the police. Some parliamentarians are in the middle of trials and four parliamentarians remain in police custody.
