Four charged with terrorism for attempted bombing in Malé

Four people have been charged with terrorism in suspicion of attempting to detonate explosive devices in Malé City last April.

The four people charged with terrosim are Ihthisham Ahmed Saeed (Gaafu Dhaalu Madaveli), Shiman Shareef (Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo), Naasih Mohamed and Mohamed Aseel (Haa Alifu Hoarafushi).

An official from the Prosecutor General's Office said that all four charged with attempting an act of terrorism. No further details were given.

Three people were sentenced to 17 years and one person to 20 years under the terrorism charge for attempting to detonate an explosive device near the Presidential residence in 2015.
