Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif arrives in Maldives

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and First Lady of Pakistan, Kalsoom Nawaz Sharif arrived in Maldives this Tuesday afternoon.

They were greeted to a Guard of Honor by Maldives National Defense Force upon arrival, and were received by Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim at Velena International Airport.

PM Nawaz Sharif is visiting Maldives upon invitation of Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, to participate in celebrations of the 52nd Independence Day of Maldives.

He is to be Chief Guest of the celebrations.

PM Nawaz Sharif will be in Maldives from July 25 to July 27; during which time he and President Yameen will hold official talks and sign a number of Memorandums of Understanding for cooperation in various areas.
