Maldives Getaways’ TTM Fair launched

International trade show – Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) Fair has been launched by Maldives Gateways.

The fair was launched by Minister of Tourism, Moosa Zameer in a function held at Dharubaaruge this Wednesday morning.

The fair is being attended by more than 300 delegates from both local and international tourist firms.

Two major events will be held during the fair – BML Hotelier Summit and Tourism Career Fair – in addition to numerous other networking events.

The purpose of the TTM Fair is to achieve the target of 2 million tourists per year by 2020, and the total number of tourist arrivals to 3.5 billion.

Speaking during the function, Minister of Tourism, Moosa Zameer stressed the importance of such tourism events, and said the government was running numerous campaigns towards boosting the number of tourist arrivals.

Meanwhile, CEO of Bank of Maldives - TTM 2017’s Platinum Partner – Andrew Healy pledged the bank’s support to the Maldivian tourism industry to achieve its 2020 target of 2 million tourists per year.

“We in Bank of Maldives are supporting your growth – funding you and providing you with card services, payment gateways and a whole lot more. Tourism-related loans account for more than MVR 3 billion of our loan portfolio and we have branches, ATMs and card terminals supporting you, your staff and your guests. We are fully committed to continuing to assist you in your efforts to attract 2 million tourists per year by 2020,” said Healy.

TTM 2017 will continue in Dharubaaruge tomorrow as well. The gala event to close the fair will be held at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi on Thursday night.
