An elderly woman who sustained a serious injury to the hand after a door slammed on the hand with strong wind has been airlifted to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) Malé City on the MNDF helicopter.
The woman injured in the incident that took place this morning is from Thaa atoll Madifushi.
Vice President of the Madifushi Island Council, Nahid Abbaas told Sun Media that the woman lost had three severed fingers from the door and the doctors suggested medi-evac when they couldn't stop the bleeding.
He said that the MNDF helicopter landed in Madifushi around 1 p.m. today.
