Launch harbored in Male’ City catches on fire

A speedboat harbored at Male’ City Harbor has caught on fire.

The speedboat, belonging to Makunudhoo Island Resort caught on fire while harbored in front of Bank of Ceylon.

Three people suffered burns due to the incident.

According to the police media official, the incident was reported to the authorities at 2:17 pm, this Sunday.

The fire has now been brought under control by Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).

An eyewitness reported that the speedboat caught on fire while harbored in front of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“There were about three people. I don’t think they suffered any serious injuries. I don’t know the details,” said the eyewitness.

The speedboat was pushed away from the harbor when it caught fire and has currently drifted away to the Fishermen’s Park lagoon.
