More than 50,000 copies of the “Mus’haf Maldheef” has been distributed as part of the government project to ensure every Maldivian citizen has a copy of the Holy Quran.
The project was launched three years ago by Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Bahrain’s Quran Care Society and Maldivian NGOs.
100,000 copies of “Mus’haf Maldheef” has been printed, brought to Maldives, and over 50,000 have been distributed to Maldivian citizens between the ages of 15 years to 40 years.
Media Coordinator at Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Mohamed Ahsan reported this Sunday that the current count stands at 52,169 copies.
Copies of the “Mus’haf Maldheef” have been distributed to 51 islands, one city, 11 State-owned companies, 33 government offices and 1,590 individual citizens by Ministry of Islamic Affairs, reports Ahsan.
Copies of the “Mus’haf Maldheef” is being distributed to individual citizens every weekday from 10 am to 1:30 pm from Ministry of Islamic Affairs counter.
The project is funded by Maldivian companies and donations from private citizens.
