DRP Leader to be appointed as Ambassador to Thailand

The name of the Leader of DRP, Mohamed Nasheed (Kaanal) has been sent for approval from the Parliament to be appointed as the Maldivian Ambassador to Thailand.

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent the name of the DRP Leader for approval at the first sitting of the second session of the Parliament set for tomorrow.

The Parliament will make a decision before sending the case to the committee for review.

Mohamed Nasheed (Kaanal) is a previous MP who rose in his political career through the opposition MDP. He is the current Leader of DRP in the government coalition.

He is a member of the Dhivehi Language Academy and the President of the Word Committee.
