Power restored after 2-hour outage to parts of Male’

Electricity has been after two hours to all parts of Male’ City which suffered power outage due to engine failure at State Electric Company (Stelco).

The power went out to a large part of Male’ City at approximately 10 am this Monday morning.

The power was restored to all the parts at around noon.

Stelco media official reported the power outage was due to two engines used at the Stelco powerhouse failing. He said the issue has now been resolved.

Stelco has brought in an additional generator and is in the process of installing it to accommodate increase in power usage in the city.
