President congratulates Maldivian Idol top 3 finalists

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has congratulated the top three finalists of season II of Maldivian Idol.

Spokesperson at President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali tweeted this Sunday morning that the President sends his congratulations to the top three finalists of season II of Maldivian Idol.

The grand finale of season II of Maldivian Idol was held on Saturday night. Mohamed Thasmeen (Bob) was announced the winner; Ahmed Hamoodh (Alvin) – the runner-up; and Shamveel Mohamed (Baro) – the second runner-up.

Muaz also tweeted President’s message that the government appreciated the talent of young Maldivian men and women, and his assurance of projects for empowerment of the youth community.

Bob – winner of season II of Maldivian Idol - received MVR 250,000 cash prize from Public Service Media, and a spot at the TV Song Festival by Asian Broadcasting Union, in addition to other prizes.
