Fiyoaree Council office broken into; money stolen from safe

A robber(s) has broken into the the G. Dh. Fiyoaree Council administrative office and stolen all the money in the safe.

The administrator of Fiyoaree Council, Ahmed Ashfaq reported to “Sun” that the council got to know about the robbery when they opened the office on Saturday morning.

Ashfaq said it looked like the office was broken into sometime during Friday night.

“The window was broken into. There’s no sign of anything else missing except for the money in the safe,” said Ashfaq.

He said the safe had MVR 12,000 – MVR 13,000 in cash.

He said the robbery has been reported to the police, and that a team from the forensics department went to the office last Saturday night to investigate the case.

Police confirmed the case has been filed with the authority, but said no arrests have been made yet.
