Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) reports it earned an income of MVR 1.1 billion in April.
MIRA’s financial report for the month of April shows it earned MVR 1,126,163,857 – including USD 43.1 million.
The biggest income generator for MIRA in the month of April was from Goods and Service Tax (GST) and Tourism Goods and Service Tax (TGST). MIRA earned MVR 412 million in TGST and MVR 246 million in GST – a total of MVR 658 million.
The second biggest income generator was the Airport Service Charge. MIRA received MVR 92 million as Airport Service Charge in April.
MIRA also received MVR 150 million in fees and charges; MVR 14.5 million more as land acquisition fee and MVR 65 million as lease payment from tourist sites.
MIRA has earned an income from MVR 5.6 billion in the first quarter of this year – from January to end of April. The amount is a 26.5 percent increase compared to the income MIRA earned during the first quarter of 2016.
MIRA reports the MVR 1.1 billion is 10.4 percent higher than the expected income for the month of May.
