4 more arrested in Yamin murder case

Four more suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of human rights activist and blogger Yamin Rasheed.

The four new arrests, in addition to the two previous arrests made in connection with the case brings the total number of suspects detained for investigation into Yamin’s murder to six individuals.

The arrests have been confirmed to “Sun” by a reliable source.

It’s not yet clear the remand period authorized for the four new suspects.

The first suspect arrested in connection with Yamin’s murder was 18-year-old Mohamed Dhifran from G. Dh. Gadhdhoo. He lived in M. Afsana which is located in the same neighborhood as the residence of Yamin – M. Spatula.

29-year-old Yamin was found stabbed on the stairwell of his residence in the early hours of April 23.

He died minutes after he was taken to the hospital.

Dhifran was arrested by the police a week later, and remanded to 15 days in custody.
