Senahiya too stops Aasandha scheme

Two private hospitals in Malé City, ADK Hospital and Senahiya Military Hospital, has stopped providing their services under Aasandha.

In an e-mail circular issued around 11:20 p.m. last night by the Aasandha company to the health centers providing services under the Aasandha scheme, the company said that after reviewing the health scheme regulations, the company board has decided that state health services providers offer free inpatient, outpatient, laboratory investigations and scanning services and so starting today, private health centers are ordered to stop the Aasandha services.

Following the circular, the biggest private hospital, ADK issued a statement last night saying that the Aasandha company has ordered to stop the Aasandha scheme service in a circular issued via e-mail last night and so the hospital will be implementing the change starting today and their services will not be provided under the Aasandha scheme.

The Senahiya Military Hospital run by the MNDF Cooperative Society issued a statement today saying that they cannot provide any service at the hospital under the Aasandha scheme at this time.

The circular issued by Aasandha last night said that patients currently admitted in treatment can continue under the Aasandha scheme until their treatment has been completed.

And the company will only make payments to the patient details that need to be submitted within 24 hours.

Aasandha said that the contracts made with the private hospitals have been terminated effective today the hospitals are required to send the service invoices within 30 days.
