May 7 declared a non-working day

President's Office has declared that next Sunday, May 7, will be an official non-working day.

The announcement was made by Spokesperson at President's Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali in a tweet he made this Saturday.

Muaz announced the government has made May 7 a non-working day to ease the burden on civil servants - many of whom are involved in the Local Council Election.

Polling stations began at 8 am, this Saturday. Many closed at 6 pm, and the rest are due to close at 8 pm.

Officials have already started counting some of the ballots.
