Minor injured in Addu City attack to be taken to Male’ City

The 15-year-old boy injured in the Addu City attack is in critical condition and arrangements are being made to transport him to Male’ City for treatment, reports Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.

The 15-year-old boy injured in the attack is reported to be Mohamed Zayan, a grade 9 student at Sharafuddin School.

He is reported to have been attacked with a machete in a street fight which took place in Hithadhoo, Addu City on Tuesday night between four individuals.

The case was reported to the police at 10:23 pm.

Manager of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, Mohamed Najeeb reported to “Sun” that the 15-year-old injured in the attack was suffering from critical head injuries.

He was the boy was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

“The doctors have recommended he be transported to Male’ City for further treatment. We are making the arrangements now. We will send him to Male’ as soon as the seats are confirmed,” said Najeeb.

Three individuals were arrested on Tuesday night in connection with the case.

Police have released no details as the case is an ongoing investigation.
