A fire at a residential house in Gaafu Dhaalu Nadella has destroyed all property in the house.
President of the Nadella Island Counil, Faisal Najeeb told Sun Media that the incident took place at the house named “Falsaa” around 9:20 a.m. this morning and was controlled with massive support from the public around 10:10 a.m.

There a total of seven people living at the residence including a small child and most of them were asleep when the fire broke out. But everyone was evacuated before the fire could spread.
The President of the Island Council said that no one was severely injured in the fire but one person sustained a burn near his right ear.

Although no one was badly injured, Council President Najeeb said that all of their property was burned down in the fire aside from what they were wearing and the house itself has come down.
Sources say that the fire at Nadella was at the residence of Mohamed Moonis, a member at the Nadella Island Council.
Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Council member, Inaz Ali told Sun Media that Vice President, Abdulla Jihad is set to visit the island to check up on the residents of the house following the disastrous fire.
A team from the MNDF and the Maldives Police Service are currently on the way to the island to investigate the fire.
