Maldives Transport and Construction Company (MTCC) has launched construction of sanitation systems in Feydhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo and Maradhoo of Addu City – a project contracted to the company for MVR 130 million.
Construction of the sanitation systems was launched by Minister of Environment Toriq Ibrahim in a function held at Feydhoo this Saturday morning.
Ministry of Environment reports MTCC was contracted to complete construction within 1-year and 3-months.
Ministry of Environment said CEO of MTCC, Ibrahim Ziyath has provided assurances the project will be completed in time, and that the sanitation systems – once complete – will create
50 new employment opportunities from the area.
The project is funded in part through the State budget, and in part through OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).
Meanwhile, the project to build water systems on the three islands – contracted out in 2016 – is near completion, according to Ministry of Environment.
