Sun introduces largest online video platform in the country with Ooredoo

Sun Media Group has introduced the largest video platform in the Maldives, Sun Play, with the revolutionary telecom company, Ooredoo Maldives.

At a special ceremony held at Barista Maldives this evening, the product was launched by the Head of Sales at Ooredoo Maldives, Hussain Niyaz and the Chief Operating Officer of Sun Media Group, Minha Faiz.

Sun Play, play.sun.mv, is an internet platform for video sharing which allows users to create channels and upload original content.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of Sun Play, COO of Sun Media, Minha, said that the platform is a “local youtube” which was introduced with over 2000 videos.

She said that users can create channels on Sun Play without a charge including businesses and allow users to showcase the Maldivian lifestyle.

COO Minha said that promotional events for Sun Play will be held in association with Ooredoo Maldives.

The second purpose of Sun Play is to assist researchers and students with videos on the Maldivian culture and history according to COO Minha.

“Now everyone is getting videos or researching from youtube searches. We want such researches with videos and information from our platform.” Minha said.

The Head of Sales at Ooredoo Maldives, Hussain Niyaz also spoke at the ceremony today saying that it has been a pleasure to introduce such a product with the largest media group in the country.

He said that Sun Media Group is a company that works hard to introduce new products with modern technology and was the first introduce new alerts via text message in the Maldives.
