Raudha’s body exhumed for second autopsy

Maldivian medical student model Raudha Athif’s body has been exhumed for a second autopsy.

Raudha was found dead in her dorm room at Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi, Bangladesh on March 29.

A second autopsy on Raudha’s body was ordered by Rajshahi Metropolitan Majistrate Court following a case filed Raudha’s family.

Dhaka Tribune reports Raudha’s body was exhumed from Hatel Khan Graveyard in Rajshahi at 10 am Bangladesh-time this Monday.

Her body was exhumed in the presence of Executive Magistrate Dr. Raktim Chowdhury, Rajshahi CID Inspector Asmaul Hoque and Raudha’s father Dr. Mohamed Athif.

“The body has been sent to Rajshahi Medical College morgue for fresh autopsy,” reported Inspector Hoque to Dhaka Tribune.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Majistrate Court ordered for Raudha’s body to be exhumed for a second autopsy on April 18 following a murder case filed by Raudha’s father Dr. Athif on April 10.

The court has ordered for a full and proper investigation to be conducted into the death, and the case has been handed over to CID of Bangladesh for investigation.

Raudha’s body was buried in Hatel Khan Graveyard in Rajshahi on April 1 after autopsy. The family had requested a second independent autopsy at the time, but buried her body due to logistical hurdles.

In addition to being a medical student, Raudha was a part-time model who featured on the cover of Vogue India in October, 2016.
