Police ordered to escort Nadheem to Civil Court

Police have been ordered to escort former Chairman of Fenaka Corporation – Mohamed Nadheem to Civil Court on Thursday morning.

Nadheem is the spouse of former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s daughter, Yumna Maumoon.

He is also a council member of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)’s Maumoon’s faction.

Deputy Leader of Maumoon’s faction, Aminath Nadhira reported to “Sun” that Nadheem was summoned to Atholhuvehi this Wednesday morning.

Nadhira said the police did not have a court order when they summoned Nadheem, but later obtained one and shared it with him.

She said the court order asked the police to escort Nadheem to Civil Court at 9:45 am, April 19, Thursday.

Nadheem has been asked to present himself at Atholhuvehi on Thursday morning in order for the police to enforce the order.

Police media official commented that the authority was working on enforcing a court order. And that it was related to a case involving a company.

Police did not specify the nature of the issue, or the name of the company concerned.
