Gas cylinder fire cause massive damage at residential home

A cooking gas cylinder being used at the kitchen of a house in Maafannu, Malé City, has caught fire causing massive damage to property.

The incident occurred today around 11:48 p.m. this morning where the regulator of the cylinder being used at Maafannu Light Blue house caught fire.

MNDF FIre and Rescue Service extinguished the fire in less than ten minutes. The Rescue Services said that the cupboard set near the stove in the kitchen was destroyed in the fire but no one was injured in the incident.

A similar incident took place last month as well where two children and an adult was injured when a cooking gas cylinder caught fire at a house in the capital.
