A kilo of heroin seized, value over 6 million

A local man and a foreigner has been arrested with over one kilograms of heroin.

The drugs were seized in an operation conducted in Malé City yesterday based on information acquired by Police Intelligence.

Maldives Police Service seized a total of 1.3 kilograms of heroin in the operation from the two people and from the residence of one of the men.

Police did not reveal any information on the two people arrested in the drug operation. They only said that they arrested a 42-year-old local man and a 26-year-old foreigner.

They were arrested after drugs were found in a bag they had during the searched after they were stopped while riding a motorcycle.
