Fire breaks out in Kandu Oiy Giri

Maldives National Defense Force reports a fire has broken out in the island Kandu Oiy Giri which Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) runs a fish factory in.

MNDF’s information officer Major Adnan Mohamed said the fire was reported to the authority after staff of the MIFCO factory failed to control the fire.

He said MNDF workers were working on containing the fire, and that additional reinforcements were on their way.
