Power outage in Villingili

Power has been out in the entire island of G. A. Villingili since dawn this Wednesday due to a generator malfunction.

Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Ahmed Shareef said the power outage was due to a fan hub in the electricity generator suddenly malfunctioning.

Shareef was the corporation was working on taking a fan hub from the powerhouse in G. Dh. Thinadhoo to Vilingili to provide a temporary solution to the problem.

Villingili powerhouse has a 550-kilowatt, 800-kilowatt and 880-kilowatt generator.

It was the fan hub in the 800-kilowatt generator which malfunctioned.
