Maldivian student reported missing in Lanka

A Maldivian student has been reported missing in neighboring Sri Lanka.

The Maldivian reported missing in 18-year-old Mohamed Shammakh, a student at American College of Higher Education in Dhehiwala.

Political Director of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heena Waleedh reported to “Sun” the Maldivian embassy was alerted to the disappearance this Tuesday.

Heena said the information has been relayed to the Sri Lankan police. And that Sri Lankan police and Maldivian embassy was searching for Shammakh.

Shammakh’s family refused to talk to “Sun”. But has been quoted by another news agency saying he was seen in the house on the night of February 21, but had not been seen since the next morning.

The family reported they started looking for him after he was not seen the entire day.

Meanwhile, a 67-year-old Maldivian man was reported missing in Sri Lanka on February 22. But he was found the same day.
