Criminal Court has sentenced a man from Pakistan who tried to smuggle drugs to Maldives by carrying them within his body, to life imprisonment.
The convict is Arshad Khan.
He has been found guilty of smuggling narcotic and illicit medical drugs to Maldives.
Criminal Court’s verdict details that Khan brought in 100 bullets of drugs on a Qatar Airways flight to Maldives. Investigations revealed that the bullets contained 326.3726g heroin, 285.4442g acetyl morphine, and 19.7645g diazepam.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment for bringing in narcotic drugs, and ten years imprisonment for bringing in illicit medical drugs.
