MNU to host fish-cake auction to launch Mother Language Day festivities

Maldives National University (MNU) has decided to host a special evening with a fish-cake auction to commemorate the International Mother Language Day.

The event led by the Faculty of Arts is set to be hosted at the MNU Campus tomorrow with a number of activities.

And so as the fish-cake auction stands as the most notable event of the evening, a fish-cake competition and a topical debate and vocabulary competition is also to be held at the special evening tomorrow along with cultural performances competition and cultural outfit contest.

A photo challenge and a leaflet contest is also set for the event.

MNU said that the Mother Language Day festivities are opened for the faculty members and their families.

The slogan for the International Mother Language Day 2017 by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is “Towards Sustainable Futures through Multilingual Education”.
