A Maldivian traveler has gone missing in Sri Lanka.
The missing man is 67-year-old Mohamed Ali from Faafu atoll Feeali. Sun Media has learned that the man was in Sri Lanka visiting his family living abroad.
A son of Mohamed Ali living in Sri Lanka told Sun Media that he has been missing since he went out this morning around 10 a.m.
The family of Mohamed Ali in Sri Lanka living on Gal Vihara Road in Dehiwala said that their father does not have any health problems and he usually goes out for a walk every day but would not go far.
They said that a missing person report has been filed with the local Police through the Maldivian Embassy in Sri Lanka.
Mohamed Ali was wearing a white shirt when he went out this morning according to his family and his usual place of visit is the mosque in the Hill Street area. They said that the whole area has been searched to no avail.
Political Director at the Maldivian Foreign Ministry, Heena Waleed told Sun Media that a Maldivian missing in Sri Lanka has been reported and the Maldivian Embassy in Colombo is providing assistance to the family.
