Chief of Protocol changed to political position

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has changed the position “Chief of Protocol” of Ministry of Foreign Affairs to a political position.

The position was previously a civil service position.

President Yameen, this Tuesday, changed it to a political position and re-appointed Mohamed Shahudy as Chief of Protocol.

The change means the post of “Chief of Protocol” has been changed from Director-General level position to Deputy Minister level.

There are already 13 officials working in Deputy Minister level in Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
