President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that gaining one’s rights is not prioritizing the rights of some over those of others.
Speaking at the ceremony held today to commemorate the completion of the Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo land reclamation project, President Yameen said that rights can be granted so that it doesn’t violate the rights of others.
The President said that even if some political parties speak to grant rights to people while it violates the rights of others, it is not something that would be accepted by the Government.
He said that every citizen has an equal right to the heritage and land of the country and no one has a higher privilege than another.
Stating that the government is working for the development of the people, President Yameen said that progress can be achieved when the people work with the government as well and support the government in the matters related to the people.
And the people of Thulusdhoo have been a fine example in displaying that effort throughout the land reclaimation project.
President Yameen said that the priority of this government is the youth and investing in the youth is investing in the future.
