PPM primaries underway for Council Election

PPM primaries for the upcoming Local Council Election are under way at Dharubaaruge, Malé City. The voting in Hulhumalé is at the PPM hall.

Deputy Chair of the PPM Elections Committee, Shazail Shiyam said that as the voting in the constituencies that need a primary are underway, primaries in M. Muli and M. Mulak would be held tomorrow.

He said that the voting would continue until 6 p.m.

Regarding the Primaries, the Secretary General of PPM, Abdulla Khaleel said that as the PPM Coalition is getting ready to run in all constituencies, the majority councils would not require a primary and a primary would be held for 64 of the 273 constituencies.

Indicating that PPM is running as part of the Coalition, he said that Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) and DRP in the coalition is set to receive over 50 seats.
