AMIN contracted to build largest school in Maldives

AMIN Construction has been contracted by Housing Development Corporation to construct the largest school in Maldives, which will be situated in Hulhumale’.

The school will be built next to the community center under construction in Neighborhood-1 of Hulhumale’.

The seven-story school will have three blocks, 50 classrooms, and will be able to accommodate 1,680 students. It will be used to teach primary and secondary-level education.

After signing the contract this Thursday in a function held in Hulhumale’, Managing Director of

HDC, Mohamed Saiman said that the MVR 132 million school will be the largest school to be built in Maldives.

Hulhumale’ already has three schools; and the Rehendhi School in Neighborhood-3 – established in 2015 – is currently the largest school to be built in Maldives.

Rehendhi School was also built by AMIN Construction. And it has 44 classrooms and accommodates 1,500 students.

Saiman said the new school contracted to AMIN Construction will have laboratories, a library, a multi-purpose hall, classrooms for sports and other activities, and two classrooms to teach students with special needs.

He said that unlike other schools in Maldives, each floor of the building will be spacious, and will have universal excess ramps for students and other personal on wheelchairs.

The three blocks will be joined through corridors.

AMIN Construction has been contracted to complete construction work within 14 months.

Managing Director of AMIN Construction, Abdulla Mohamed provided assurance the construction work will be completed and the school handed over to HDC within the contracted time.
