Police: Corpses are of missing Chinese tourists

Police have confirmed the two corpses found from the sea on Saturday morning are that of the two Chinese tourists who went missing from Meeru Island Resort and Spa (Fenfushi).

The Chinese tourists; a 34-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were reported missing on Thursday, January 19. They were last seen swimming in the ocean.

Bodies of the two tourists were found separately this Saturday morning.

One of the bodies was found at approximately 7:30 am from near Baros Island Resort, and the other was found at approximately 8 am from near Thulhaagiri Island Resort.

Baros and Thulhaagiri lays approximately 20 miles away from Meeru Island Resort.

Police reports the bodies of the two tourists have been taken to Male’ City.
