Police confiscate narcotics smuggled into resort inside lotion bottles

Police have confiscated a shipment of narcotics smuggled into a resort in B. Atoll inside lotion bottles, arresting a Maldivian man involved in the case.

Police reported the operation was carried out by officers in B. Atoll on January 12.

The suspect arrested in the case is a 22-year-old Maldivian man who was intercepted by officers carrying a cardboard box after arriving to the resort by boat.

The narcotics were found packed inside rubber packets inside lotion bottles in the cardboard box the man was carrying.

Police reported the man also tested positive for narcotics.

B. Atoll Magistrate Court has remanded the suspect to seven days in police custody.
