Center Enterprises sues Stelco for MVR 40 mn

Center Enterprises Private Limited has filed a civil lawsuit against State Electric Company (Stelco) for MVR 40 million in compensation after Stelco failed to settle payment for a forklift ordered by Stelco from Center Enterprises.

The lawsuit says Stelco signed an agreement with Center Enterprises for purchase of a six-ton forklift valued at MVR 1,292,475, but failed to make the payment.

Center Enterprises has sued Stelco for over MVR 40 million in payment for the forklift and damages for failing to settle the payment during the agreed period time.

The lawsuit was filed with Civil Court on January 2. And has now gone to trial after failure to settle the issue in conflict resolution.

Meanwhile, Center Enterprises recently won a MVR 160 million lawsuit against Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) for a tugboat supplied to MPL by the company.
