Minister Zenysha’s advice: Don’t sideline people with disabilities

Minister of Gender and Family, Aminath Zenydha Shaheed Zaki has advised not to sideline people with disabilities in the Maldives.

Speaking at the ceremony at Dharubaaruge today to present the letter of employment at FENAKA Corporation to 100 people with disabilities, Minister Zenysha said that a lot of is still to be done to provide equal opportunity to people with disabilities.

And so the Minister advised the state companies and private companies to give opportunities for disabled people progress in different fields of work.

The Minister said that allowing the disabled to take part in full-time, part-time or temporary positions and volunteer work is empowering and a progress achieved by the society.

She said that everyone must make it their goal to absolve the discrimination and attacks in employment and school environment and build a safe, protective environment for people with disabilities.
