Maldives Police Service and Gulhi Falhu Investment Limited has signed a contract to award a 240,000 square-foot land for a duration of 99 years to build the Police Academy.
The contract was signed in a ceremony held at Islandhar Building this Tuesday by Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Areef and Managing Director of Gulhi Falhu Investment, Abdulla Fazeel.
Speaking during the ceremony, CP Areef spoke about the lack education and training facilities available for police officers to provide the quality of services desired by the people.
He said that the Police Academy, once established, would provide a solution to the problem.
Maldives Police Service has not disclosed the source of the funding for the Police Academy or when construction will start.
