Met Office forecasts widespread rain over next 24 hours

National Meteorological Service has forecasted widespread rain in the country over the next 24 hours.

Met Office forecasts scattered showers and a few thunderstorms across the country, with a few heavy rain showers in the central atolls.

It said that surface winds were expected to vary west to northwesterly at 5 – 15 miles per hour in northern atolls and 10 – 20 miles per hour elsewhere.

Winds may gust 35 miles per hour during showers.

Seas are forecasted to be slight in the north and moderate becoming rough during showers elsewhere.

Met Office advised travelers to be up-to-date with the latest weather forecasts.
