MPL employee arrested over death threat to CEO

An employee of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has been arrested over alleged death threat against MPL’s CEO, Mohamed Junaid.

Police has confirmed that the authority was investigating a threat issued against CEO Junaid, and that one suspect has been arrested in the case.

The authority released no further details.

“Sun” has been informed that the police arrested a 60-year-old man employed by MPL.

Criminal Court has ordered that the man be remanded to seven days in police custody.
