Saeed: PM Modi, President Yameen have revolutionized the economy

Minister of Economic Development of Maldives, Mohamed Saeed has commented that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom have both revolutionized the economies of their respective countries.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of Maldives Investment Forum 2016 which is underway in New Delhi, said that PM Modi and President Yameen had taken economic prosperity to a whole new level with their shared economic agendas.

“Both the leaders have started a whole new historic chapter in the economy of their respective countries. They will be revered in their countries for their countries for their economic policies and their trade-friendly tactics,” said Saeed.

Saeed said that President Yameen had opened Maldives to business and economic opportunities under his presidency.

He said the biggest mission of the Maldivian government was to bring in foreign investment, create job opportunities for the youth, and ensure Maldivian people lived a prosperous life.

Saeed said Maldives had always welcomed free trade. And that it was part of President Yameen’s economic agenda.

“This is something which is strongly promoted in President Yameen’s economic agenda. The agenda promotes a transparent and easily accessible business environment,” he said.

Minister Saeed said the interest of a variety of businessmen operating in different fields in the MIF was a strong indicator of India’s acceptance of the Maldivian government’s economic policies.
