Boat wrecks on reef near Thulhagiri Island Resort

A 75-foot boat “Kurimagu” has wrecked on a reef near Thulhagiri Island Resort, located in K. Atoll.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the incident was reported to them at 4 pm, Friday.

MNDF said a team of divers was deployed immediately to the area on a harbor craft speedboat for assistant.

MNDF said the captain of the boat reported that three people were onboard the boat when the incident took place, and that none of them were hurt.

Details of the damage to the boat are unavailable at this point.
